Lady Gouldian finch.

I decided to search their name: John Gould, son of the gardener at Windsor who became an important ornithologist. He was born in England 60 miles from where my Canadian relatives migrated at the same time this Mr. Gould was doing his work. John Gold came to Canada and one of his sons changed the spelling of his name to Gould.

He said that it was an alternative spelling. So, I have Gold & Gould relatives.

For anyone interested in finches, those Gouldian Finches are available to purchase and have in an indoor aviary. Expensive little feather balls, but oh so pretty. For some reason, the phrase "You're so pretty I could eat you up!" keeps coming to mind. Maybe I am half puddy tat.

Yes it's a real photo. When I reduced the size for posting it here I also selected the minimum file size which makes some pics look strange (grainy from less pixels).
