My restarted Brandywines have buds coming on them. I have always heard to pluck the first batch of buds so the plants can focus on getting bigger and stronger before trying to produce.

What do ya'll think?

Yeah that does sound like a good idea to do, this way the plant doesnt try to produce when its still not that strong.

This is the same general rule for a lot of plants. I think that is what you should do. My brandywine tomato has buds too... I'm going to pluck them. They haven't opened yet... but I did put a couple sets of leaves and bury the plant extra deep when I got it. I'm trying to force a deeper root system as not to lose this plant.
