Yesterday, just at dusk, my Sister took this double rainbow photo

Beautiful photo, @Carol Dee! I love the play of colors in the sky and on the tree.

Yes, @Kassaundra, I'm not complaining. I am celebrating! It is a special event to have the sun greet me in the morning. We have another chance the next 3-4 days if the sun gets up before the clouds.

I have a video of a double rainbow, but never have a camera handy for a still shot. I remember 'chasing' a rainbow to find its end (I swear) right over McDonald's. I had a date that morning to meet an internet gardening friend from Washington state who was in town for a family affair. A sweet lady in person and a real treasure at the end of that rainbow.

We sometimes prefer windows to the south but often they are only good for sitting in and basking in winter sun. Lots of experience!

Having the sun at your back, even indoors looking out or especially so, aids vision.

I can watch school kids in the playground thru a neighbor's backyard and under his huge maple tree. Right now they aren't out there much but it is fun thru the school year.

All those pines around you, I bet it is so peaceful and quiet! I love how they dampen sounds until everything is whisper-still and all you can hear is the wind blowing through. There's a place where I pick wild blackberries down the road and the power company owns the land and has it all planted to pines, acres of them. It's magical! We mostly have deciduous trees here otherwise. Is all of your area pine woods, @thistlebloom ?

@journey11 , yes, pretty much all conifers of one sort or another.
There are also pockets of aspens, and cottonwoods along creeks, but the only hardwoods are the ones people plant.

I've been trying to plant maples and oaks so we can see some different colors and textures on our property, but they are mostly babies. I would love to have some of your trees that give you spring blooms and fall colors!
