First on my “do differently next season” list is to skip the plastic cell trays and start with bigger option!

those little cell trays come in very handy while starting seedlings especially for mators and peppers once they get 2-3 rows of true leaves you want to transplant them into larger pots and bury them deep....

ever since my heating mats died came up with this..
small personal heater
bbq thermometer
old computer motherboard fan
takes about a day to dial in the heater to keep the soil at 73* <germinating artichokes now> , the fan really helps keeping the air moving to hold a constant soil temperature... the bbq thermometer will tell you the exact temp

and to hold that heat in a sheet of plastic to go over the front...

I moved them to 3” peat pots, a bit deeper: soil almost to their two “leaves”. I also upped the temp to 80ish. Hoping for some growth!!
Exactly, bottom heat. It can be TOO hot for tomatoes. They like it cool at night to set their fruit. Every vegetable has it's picky moments. Also, invest in a mister, just a refillable spray bottle, and water that way when they are little. I have been killing my seedlings left and right this winter with too much water, so you need drainage.
If you start from seed, Mist them and then put on the plastic top. Let them beg to be transplanted.
I have store bought tomatoes and had up to 5 in a pot all rooted up together. I would soak them for an hour, then gently tug them apart. Lots roots, but they don't care.

Those actually look nice. I hope we can plant the same seeds here where we at, we only have local pepper seeds here. I tried looking for different pepper seeds to grow but the local market only sells the common ones. :(
