if you need any creeping Jenny, i have plenty to send you! the stuff has taken over my back lawn area. i don't mind that it has since from a distance the lawn looks green, except when it is flowering those little yellow blooms. my parents have the golden form but my lawn is the green. it does like it moist but once established it shouldn't be bothered by low moisture situations. it's pretty adaptable.

ever think of everbearing strawberries? there are some that will trail. and if they send out runners that get too long just pinch them off and replant them.

@Nyboy, you might try Wandering Jew, a member of the spiderwort family that is usually grown as a house plant [Tradescantia]. They are very hardy and do well growing outside -- even taking slight frost which really surprised me -- and, while the flower is pretty insignificant, the foliage is interesting enough to stand along. I prefer the purple/green, but have had the green/white striped variety as well.

How about Lotus vine (Parrot's beak) grey/green airy vine with red flowers or I believe there is a gold flowering variety. Another although not grown for it's insignificant flowers 'Glechoma hederacea' (common names trailing Nepeta, Ground Ivy, Runaway Robin). I've used this one when I wanted a bit of length in my hanging baskets, comes in plain green or variegated foliage. Another that looks nice draping over the edges of containers is 'Cymbalaria muralis' (kenilworth Ivy).

Ohhh, Kenilworth ivy....it's very pretty and delicate looking and really grows fast to drape well. Forgot about that one Aftermidnight.
You do have to be careful of it depending on your region though.
It will come back in the ground underneath the place it grew in a hanging basket.

I took plants to my mom every time we visited and one summer I brought her some Kenilworth. It went rampant in her yard and was even twining up into the rhodies.

She was not a happy camper, although she admitted she still loved me.
But just barely. :D

LOL, yes I have it popping up in the most unexpected places but I love it and just pull where I don't want it. I had a bit of the white flowering one but it died out on me. There's another Cymbalaria I'm a little more wary of 'hepaticifolia', I have that too but it's in a container, hasn't escaped in the 10 years I've had it.
