Destruction is easy, production & building takes planning, work, and time.

Kids usually take the easy route, especially if there is only that example in the home and neighborhood. If their models for behavior are those who destroy and not those who build, can we really blame an immature person?

Okay, we can blame them, their energy is misdirected, but championing the builder is something we can also do. And, Joe, you are a builder. All gardeners are producers. We set our sights on the future and act with faith. You won't lose your faith. Don't put up any walls against the "real" world where they cannot see what you've built and grown.

As "Real Worlders" - we are all in this together with you.

I do agree the kids are just doing by example.
I know were most live and there parents are either all pill'ed up or drunk by nooners. There yards are just junk piles.
This hood was nice years ago, but the nice older folks that cared for there places have passed away one by one. Now it is come and go renters!

The worst part is I was looking forward to letting the girls (my chickens) have the sun flower seed heads. They just love them.

Oh well, just need to rethink my layout!

Hey thanks! You know this don't bother me as much as the lady stealing the plants! That made me mad!

These are just kids being mirrors of there upbringing.

They have never planted a seed and watched it grow like you and I.
It is so sad they are our future!

I am so happy to see folks here showing there young how life should be! Work hard and reap what you sow.

Well back to running wires, I don't want them to see were the cameras are going. I hope to get a face then the cops can do something! Although a plant just cost me time, but for me to have to put a dollar amount to it well, mom and dad will not like my math!

Joe I am so sorry that happened to you .
Kids can be rotten, like you said they probably had a bad upbringing and they are angry and full of resentment so they take it out on someone who shows they care about something, like your flowers.
You may care more about your property than their parents care about them and they know it.
Some people will destroy what they can't have so no one will enjoy it.
I agree with Ron, sharp plants is the way to go.

That is so horrible and disheartening!!! I dont know what I would do, but I know my mind would be thinking evil thoughts! The worst problem we ever had was, mailbox bashers, also, my brother in law took a bunch of my best tomatoes to the little corner store and sold them for beer money. Now mind you I have no problem with him drinking beer, but I would rather have given him the money, than have him steal from us!!

Ahh the good old fashion way!

Sad but these kids will not learn right from wrong as they should!
We can only hope some will reach some of them some how!

As Ron mentioned I can regrow what they try to take from me!
As Steve mentioned I am a builder and I will rebuild!

They will learn from me, by not stopping my project, and carry on. That I am stronger then there negative actions.

I will step down from my soapbox now.

I was driving by this place today and had to back up and take a photo or two. Hard to see but it looks very nice! A lot of work.

I wonder if he sleeps in the yard with a shotgun or what.
My planters would be trashed right on the road like that!
