I love those first frog sounds in early spring. I heard one a few days ago--at least I guess it was a frog---just this lone, lonely sounding peeping coming from the woods near the house, after dark.
Looking forward to hearing those sounds again soon. Once we get past the -2* prediction for tonight.....

Lucky I know what you mean, I love frog sounds in early spring too. Woke up to snowing hard 6 to 12 inches before it stops tonight. Frogs still in deep sleep here.

Your March is reminding me of early March 1989, here.

The winter weather hadn't been so great but we'd made it to March ... it was -7°f. My choice of vehicles that winter was between a '64 Tbird & '83 Buick. I took the Tbird and barely made it home because of the snow. That car was terrible if there was any snow on the roadway.

The next day, it was 2° and windy! I took the Buick. It was fine on the snow and ice but it was a diesel. I couldn't start it to go home. I was the last to leave work, parked too far to get a wire to the block heater. Called a tow truck ....

Within days, the cold moved out and afternoons were in the high 50's. I hope that happens for all of you ... (not the part about the trouble getting home after work.)

We are on a warm spell 74° all through the weekend. Nurseries are selling tomatoes now and predicting a long warm season. Hopefully I will be able to grow Diplomat Galia melons this year.
