We got about a foot of snow, the lightest fluffiest snow you ever saw. I struggled to get some area cleaned out for those ungrateful chickens, who would rather stay in their house and complain.
I woke up this morning at 4 am with chest pain. don't know if it is my heart, or pleurisy or what. so I took it easy on the shoveling. DH was out trying to get the car uncovered, saw a truck with a blade across the road, went over and hired him to come blade off our drive. YEA! I know the highway dept. snow plows will pile up snow along the drive edge, but it won't be as bad as it could have been. Strong wind from northwest is causing some drifting, though.

Yes, I will remain aware of chest pain and go to the ER if it feels necessary. Heart trouble does not run in my family at all, and I have no other contributing factors...diet, cholesterol, habits, etc. Just my age. :( At least now we can maybe get out of the driveway.

I know you will, but I just want to say, take care So Lucky.
Good timing on snagging the guy to clear your driveway. :)

Oh too bad Major! You currently have more snow and colder temps than we do. But I feel sorry for you anyway.

I was going to say, that's what you get for bragging on your year round garden climate......

I will. I took a pain pill, and most of the pain went away, so I think it was maybe strained muscles from a strenuous Pilates workout on Friday, just taking its time to show up.

Pain sometimes is difficult to locate.

Stomach pain is right in the center of the body. If pain continues very long, tense muscles begin to contribute to it.

Back pain, chest pain, neck pain, stomach pain ... where's it coming from?!

There are tests and the ER people are used to people not being able to describe what is happening to them.

SO the calendar says spring will come... not soon enough for me. IT is bloody cold here again. Nights below zero days in single digits to a balmy 24 on Friday then cold again for the next 10 days at least. Windy too which never helps. We only had one major snow event. Happy for that. UGH. I feel terrible for the folks in the NE.

I live in a state where we expect winter to be....well...winter, so all this cold, snow and wind doesn't seem to phase me as much as other areas. Folks in Boston seem stunned and angry about getting winter in the dead of winter, and I'll grant you they've been hit harder than most, but that happens to all of us in the northeast in our turn. When I was young the snow covered our home once and though that was more snow than normal, we weren't all that surprised...we lived at high elevations and we got snow for winter and lots of it..it's kind of expected.

I imagine it's harder for those who live in states where cold and snow is a little unexpected for winter time, so I'm not knocking their misery, but it seems to me that one would expect these kind of weather conditions in the winter and prepare for them. Then just accept what is not in our control and roll on to other things....lots happening out there in the world that is worse than cold weather, so we have it pretty good in comparison.

I'll take my snow and subzero temps, knowing it will soon be done and spring will be here. At least our seeming misery has an end in sight and for that we can be thankful! :thumbsup We are so blessed to be living in America and with nothing worse to complain about than snow and cold.

I think winter just came a little late here this year. It was so mild up until now. BUT, I keep looking at my garden calendar and seeing those to-do's creeping up on me so quickly. Spring is on its way. I've got a lot to do to get ready for it!
