You got a two month quote. Around here the "quote" is two weeks. For years, when asked by a tenant how long it would take DH to build, repair, or replace something for one of our vacant properties the response was, "two weeks."

Three years later that same tenant asked how long it would take to finish the work. "Two weeks", was DH's reply. A couple of months later, that tenant brought a friend to see the vacant property. The friend asked how soon the repairs would be finished because he wanted to move in. The tenant beat DH to his response of "two weeks", just as DH and I broke out laughing knowing DH was prepared to say "two weeks."

The friend/new tenant moved in 10 days later. Twelve years later they are still renting the apartment.

Really you have no quote. If they find something, your bill will increase but they left a $3000 cushion. If they haven't even looked at it, all they have done is pick up your truck, stored it (you could be on hook for that if you decide to quit waiting), and insured themselves work in slow times. All good for them. Without knowing what has to be fixed, $5000 could be fair, cheap or robbery.

My sister emailed me he does really good work. My sister knows him though a car club they both belong to. Believe it or not the PT cruiser has fan clubs and car shows all over the country.

Doing good work is not associated with cheap here. I am not saying it is not worth it or that you won't like the restoration job.

I believe it, but certainly don't understand the PT Cruiser's popularity.

My sister theme for her PT is cookie monster. She has him painted on her hood , with smaller ones painted all around car. Some people put thousands of dollars in ad ons to their PT. Gangster theme with fake bullet holes very big.

Thank you majorcatfish for bringing this up. I had be intending to ask the same question, but kept forgetting once I'd read through the messages.

Nyboy, we need that report and a photo of your niece and the fiance she met through your truck.

2 months right I knew it would take longer. Was sent email frame for bench seat was on ebay, I was glad to find it, almost passed out on price to upholster. last report engine back together, STARTED working on body. Truck was picked up July 4 weekend.

I had work done last week on the house. We had ice dam damage in 3 rooms. They fixed the ceiling of my greenhouse in July. 2 weeks ago I told my husband to call and beg them to come paint it. It was done last week along with the repairs on the 2 other rooms-they were coming in July, that was promised last April. The other 2 rooms are not painted yet but all I really cared about was getting back into my greenhouse. There supposed to come next week to finish painting-won't hold my breath. I am patient though. I know other people had way worse damage that we did. I'm hoping it will be done before Christmas.
