Once again...i have no idea what detlor is talking about...but anyway!

I was going to tell you, jess, that we rigged up a drip/mist irrigation system in our greenhouse this year. It was pretty easy, 1/2 inch irrigation tubing running down the middle of the roof of the greenhouse, hooks up to a garen hose. Then you use this special hole puncher thing and run 1/4 inch drip lines from the big line. I ran some to drip right at the base of my tomatoes, and left some short and attached misters to those, to wet a larger area and help cool off the greenhouse on hot afternoons. We also got a programmable control valve thingy, that we're able to set what time the water comes on, and for how long. So if i know its going to be hot, and we wont be home, i'll program it to come on once or twice in the afternoon to help cool things off. I didnt find it too hard to hand water, since my garden is not that big, but its really nice to have it set up if you're going to be gone for a few days. The initial $ investment wasnt tat much, and i expect we'll be able to modify it and continue to use it for many years.

Heather - Your drip system sounds wonderful - I need to talk to the husband and get something in place! Daily watering is fun for me, but I will definitely not be able to do it reliably every single day for months on end...
