12F, getting cloudy, going to be windy tomorrow.

up and down all week. lows below zero some nights. some days near zero too for the high. other times up to nearly 20. Sunday's forecast is for 25F which would be nice and balmy.

-15 F air temperature at 6AM this morning. High is at 4PM today of...0 F. Down to -7 (maybe) tonight. We are under an extreme cold warning, probably bc too many people do nothing outside in the winter and don't buy or wear warm hats and warm gloves, just pretend warm ones.
I want to remind you all that live were it is cold in the winter, CHANGE YOUR SOCKS! You don't realize how much you sweat in a heated house and then you go outside and your feet freeze.
I bought a pair of boots that have a padded inner layer from Field & Stream and they are the warmest boots I have ever owned. I don't know if they have any left. Bought a pair for eldest DD (size 11 women's) bc my other DD's and I have lots of winter boots, and she only had one pair. We had 2-4 inches last Friday, and she changed into them.
SOOOOOOO WARRRRRRRMMM!! was her post.
I have been using them for 3-4 hours at a time doing chores and my feet stay warm even in this severe cold.
I will let you know if they didn't sell out.

Ma said it got to -17 last night, so it's likely to be similar tonight. Come Friday night it's supposed to be even colder yet.

I fetched my winter boots from out of storage a week ago but have yet to get them out, shake the stink bugs out of them and actually use them. Will likely do so when I work on some projects this week or the next. So far I've not stayed out long enough to warrant anything more than my woolly socks and muck boots.

Big, beautiful full moon tonight, folks, and I hope you have clear skies enough to see it...just gorgeous!!!

-31.9 this morning, our lowest in years. And it came on the heels of -30, -27, and -24.9, all in a row. Highs of 4. I'm hoping the chickens can hold on one more day. A slight warm up is coming Wednesday.

Whoa...I think you win the basement temps award Bucka.
That is bone numbing, I bet your big fireplace is a favorite hangout lately.

In the Northern Panhandle of WV it was below 0 this morning. I dont think it made it to 10 today.... if it did it wasnt long. Not going to be much warmer around these parts for the next week, Supposed to be around 38 by next Monday. We finally had a "white Christmas" this year. We got about 2 inches of snow this year. First time in about 10 years.

-4 F. as I write this, supposed to get down to around -9 F. by the time I go to work. This follows 4-5 days of negative nights, with a few days more to come. That's the payback for our above-normal November... weather does seem to be a teeter-totter, first the kiss, then the slap. Quite the slap this year. :smack:th
