@thistlebloom let's say I managed.

Yeah the extra seat is for our 6 year old son. Slowly he's getting to big for it. I've started with a seat on the steering wheel with a windscreen when he was almost a year old. I'm really liking the seat on the bar, works great. My wife has a seat on the back of the bike, but then you can't see him and he's not seeing very much.

The seat on the bar is genius.
What you need now is a tandem bike! ;)

Today's weather is cold! It's 18 and windy, weather service says it feels like 5, (which I know is balmy for many of you who have been in the deep freeze) but definitely a drop from what we've been getting.

Cold enough for Larka (big dog) to come in for a visit. She likes to visit, but gets too hot and wants back out. Even today she was panting in under an hour and went to the door to be let out.
Wren (little dog) is determined to stay in no matter what. :)

Cattle Dog and Bernese Mtn Dog! Nice!

My brother recently lost their cattle dog whom they adopted 10 years ago. Sudden in two days. Cancer. So they evidently "ordered" a Bernese for a replacement. I was a bit taken aback as I love adoptions, and I read that Bernese have a 7 - 9 year life. All dog lives are too short, but that would about do me in.

Their potential for a short life gave me pause also. I had talked to Nyboy about it and asked for his thoughts. He said a dogs lifespan would never keep him from getting a dog he liked, so I plowed ahead. She's 3.5 and so far has been very healthy.

it was nice and balmy here today too. i could go outside with just my long-sleeved shirt on to pick up the recycling bins. it rained quite a bit off-and-on so almost all of the snow is gone already.

more cold and rain/ice/snow coming back soon. that is ok, it is how it should be in the winter not this mush...

I notice that the WS webpage loaded slowly this morning. Lots of people must be interested ;).

The meteorologists are having a difficult time lately with their forecasts. Last week, storms on either side of the Cascade Mountains was cause for them to describe the situation as "crazy weather!" Two different systems made for uncertainty as to the chance the Pacific air would push over the barrier or if what was somewhat trapped against the Rockies in Canada would continue moving south.

I have noticed that the forecasts since have generally been off and subject to revision about every 8 hours. It's fun to see them struggling ... well, at least they aren't bored ;).

A skift of snow this morning and quite cold. The wind chill is down to about 10°f. I am going to guess that temperatures will be in single digitS', without accounting for the wind, before our next snowstorm.

@thistlebloom , 3 yo is a good age for a dog. They have finally left "the terrible two's" and gained some maturity and sense.

For you cat people, here is a thought. Can anyone imagine that having a breed of domestic cats the size of a Bernese could possibly be a good idea?

:) Steve
