Believe me, I was awake! that first crash of thunder and the thought of that expensive stack of hay being ruined swept all sleepiness away.
I wore my trusty headlamp, and it was adventurous wondering if I might get struck being so close to metal corral panels, haha.

i'm glad you are still with us! i love storms. :)

We NEED rain, after a far too wet spring and early summer we have had NO Rain for over 6 weeks. So Bone dry, small ponds are mud flats, yards are brown grass with big cracks. Getting hot again after a slightly cooler week. Still no rain in site! Getting hard to keep things in garden and pots going. Rain barrels are empty.

Some fairly serious rainstorms and lightening hereabout.

Nothing in my immediate area altho there was some nice rain. The hours of rain today kept me out of the garden and planned weeding. Have an appointment mid-day tomorrow but should be able to spend a few hours outdoors either before or after - better check the forecast ...

Minor personal things! What should concern everyone if all those lightening strikes started any fires. They may just sit there and smolder for several days then flare into something flaming disaster!

rounded the curve for the Earth tilting and the next milestone half way down the hill is coming in view -- we are now closer to the Equinox than to our longest day at Solstice.

Summer has mulled into high's in the 80's, lows in the 60's. First summer in FOREVER, where we didn't spend 3 months sweltering! We have had the windows open and fans going for the last week.
SAME and enjoying it very much. Still could use some rain. We did get some but not nearly enough.
