at 5;00 am the dw comes in my bedroom and informs me that there's no water, well what a way to be woken up.....
crap so out of bed throw clothes on went outside opened up the door to where the water comes into the house, took the cover off the pressure switch, nope contacts good, have a couple issues in there but that's not a today thing... checked for voltage yup got it....

out to the well checked for voltage there good.. finally the sun is coming up so started to drag out tools disconnected the water line and power <yes i did turn off the power>. loosened the well cap and proceeded to pull the pump out.. well there's the problem the wires are broken seems that over the year every time the pump starts or stops the wires were rubbing on the casing...
so called work told them i have water issues and will be in as soon as possible, wish i could take the whole day off but i have a internal boiler inspection tomorrow morning....

so jumped in the truck drove down to tractor supply and purchased a splicing kit and a check valve<new it was time to change it out again> couple rolls of electrical tape, roll of teflon tape and a pipe wrench who knows where my other one walked off too.....

got home had to shorten the water line by 18" installed the check valve, tightened everything back on the pump, spliced the wires back together heated the shrink tubing. while there took an old piece of soaker hose and covered up where wires run up the side of the pump and another piece covering up where i spliced the wires up about a foot taped the piss out of it.

finished with that, since i had the pump out decided to just see where was my static water level was. well dang my tag says 20' i am at 14' ...that's really good news.
grabbed a towel as i was lowering the pump was wiping down the water line to get all the grass clipping off it. hooked everything back up hooked up the hose there at the well ,walked over to the breaker box flipped the breaker..got water...... happy happy joy joy ...... come inside and got the rest of the air out of the lines...

flipped the hot water heater breaker back on, so just waiting for hot water to take a shower and off to work..

so glad it was an easy fix.....$75.00 damn pumps are not cheap...

hows your morning going????

Nothing like yours, thank the Lord! Just sitting here with a cup of coffee delaying leaving for work.
Hope you sail through your boiler inspection and the rest of the day is easy peasy! :)

Major, I could have done all that in half the time! haha. Having breakfast at the computer. Waiting for an hour to go pick up my daughter and go to this hugh church rummage sale that we go to every year. Hope to find jelly jars, misc. yarn for kid's crafts, book, and homemade jellies and baked goods. Looking forward to looking through all the stuff! Pretty good morning so far. :)

Same thought as Carol Dee... Lucky you are a handyman, @majorcatfish. Hopefully it will make the rest of the day seem easy.

Our well is 200 feet, if I reset the breaker and nothing happens, it would be more than a bad morning.

My morning has been uneventful, since my DIL called and canceled me watching the grand baby today. Wishing I was going with @ninnymary though. Sounds like fun!

It was so much fun. I had been looking for a Weber grill on CL and they were asking $60-70. Found one for $10 in mint condition! My daughter also found a bistro red iron set for $20! Told her if she didn't take it that I would. Wouldn't know where I was going to put it but for that price, what the heck. I also had only 1 little plastic paint bowl that I love for the kids. Found 4 more for .25 each. Yay!!
