I planted a Clone Tomato, directly into the outside soil. We'll see if it will make it. Covered it with straw and green weed leaves, you can barely see it's green, the earth is very damp~don't know if that shows up.

I would like to try roasted beets this year. Wife candies them. They are good.

Tonight planted 4 rows of onion seedlings-hate seperating them. Takes longer to do that than plant them.

Replanted green beans. Hope they make it.

If I can get the courage to use my pressure canner I am canning beets with it this year. I really like pickled beets, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE fresh beets. They are very sweet on their own.
I think if you are used to processed canned vegetables they can really turn you off to the real thing.

Last weekend we cleaned up the raspberry patch and finished placing edging, weed block, and bark around the apple trees. Yesterday I tilled the driest part of garden and started the planting today. A few more dry days and we will be able to get the rest of the garden worked up and planted. Maybe by weekend.
