We are now having an extremely rare weather event for this time of year here. Two monsoon tropical storms are arriving with warm rain, starting right now.

That will make watering much simpler.
will it come to my house?? :fl

after this mornings activities cooled down for a bit and took the dogs for a afternoon walk...swear both of them need hearing aids........
decided to pop one of the last radishes, washed it off and sat down and enjoyed it..holy cow there was some heat to it..don't get me wrong it was perfect....

while sitting there looked over how things were doing in the raised beds.

radishes.... done till fall
butter lettuce....done till fall
miners lettuce ...done
bok choi.. got to get the rest up going to dry some and make kimchi out of the rest
onions... they are doing great, they look like onions now.
green onions... yup time to harvest them.
potatoes.. starting to turn.
iceberg lettuce.. starting to fill out
looked over to the carrots..time to pull the first round.
dang good stuff....

walking back like a happy camper looked at the yellow beans...yup got a nice picking out of them
nothing like freshly sauteed beans that squeak when you eat them.

since there figured it was time to look at the squash... oops think we missed a few.
looks like a few loaves of zucchini bread is coming.

Oh Major... looking like our day of picking. We jetted out to find what we could between rains today. Though my squash has been destroyed by vine borers, I did manage to throw a couple of seed sin the ground to get a second planting. I'll cover the new growth when it comes up to protect it from any more borers trying to lay eggs on them this time! I will prevail.

We brought in a couple of handfuls of cukes, a buckets of dragon tongue beans, a handful of blue lake pole beans, a cup of raspberries, 3 ears of corn, 5 staggering strawberries, 24 carrots and a couple of handfuls of dills and parsley. (...also 2 almost ripe tomatoes I'm going to let finish up on the counter.)

We still have some kale going good, but there are no more greens out there that can take this weather... even though its been uncommonly cool for NC.

All in all it was a pretty nice day to wash up veggies and put them away. :)

Just finished some nice strawberry/raspberry shortcake left over from my bday dinner yesterday. Always nicer the 2nd day.
