I have a lot of my early daffies up and blooming. So pretty! The bluebells in back are up and growing. No flowers back there for a while. Times like these when I wish I lived in warmer climes. I'm running next to last in flowering and planting times.

I believe you may be completely right about that, @Smart Red :).

We haven't heard from Pascal in Saguenay Quebec, lately. Of course, @enchant jardinier is probably enjoying his greenhouse and the 2014 bounty from his cellar.

@Ridgerunner no arguments here. I was last year of draft. Got the ride, free doc exam, test but lacked 3 numbers of getting called.

I'll never forget the ride home to tell my folks I got to visit Chicago. Dad (ex-Marine who was in China as part of the Japan version of D-Day-luckily Truman decided to light Japan up instead otherwise NO ME as he would have been first wave-dead) went off on Government and why were we sending kids off to the slaughter there. First time I Ever heard him NOT defend our policies.

@Nyboy I hope you are getting an idea of how this divided the country to this day. Huge gap in those touched by it vs those not. Huge pop explosion also as at one time married family men were not drafted. Government stopped that exemption real fast...

Don't be offended digitS'. The comment was probably addressed at me for talking about gardening on a garden web site. Or at least "Me, too."

I seldom take such comments personally, especially when I made my topic change in an effort to ward off personality clashes. The garden is never a place for arguments when everyone acts with respect for and consideration of differing positions as seedcorn and valley ranch are doing so very well.

I appologize, valley. So sorry you felt I was behaving rudely.

@Smart Red figured it was meant for me. No problems. I'm used to people not liking my opinions. I will survive.
