what kind of vegetables should i plant?

So far we just have onions planted, last year we did potatoes, witch were very small, we did tomatoes, those came out good, we did hot peppers, those came out awesome, had lots of those, we done corn, good there too, we done green beans those came out great, we done squash, had way to many of them, we did all kinds of things, but my husband likes to plant vegetables that are like exotic and weird names and i perfer "normal" vegetables, like last year we planted some kind of corn that was like a blueish color, this year i told him i want regular sweet corn, im not into the exotic stuff lol....whats great to plant and grows great? This is only are 2nd year doing a garden so this is new for me. Thanks!

decide what you want to eat and grow it. On amount, there are only 2 amounts--too much and not enough. Too much is better as you can always give excess to friends/family. or food fight.........

good thinkin, id rather have way to much than not enough, love to help people out, so i think we'll be planting alot then.

On the other hand, don't grow so much that you can't take care of it. In order to get lots of produce you have to do lots of work or have lots of kids who like to do lots of work.

This is my first year gardening, and I'm going to probably plant a lot more than I can eat. Just in case something happens to my plants, or I get too little.

I have a family of 4, and my boyfriends family of 8 to feed off of these vegetables. (I'm there a lot) I also have rabbits, chickens, and ducks that can benefit from some of the vegetables.

Some veggies a lot of people focus on are Zucchini, Cucumber, Corn Carrots, Beans, Peas, Potatoes and Squash. I'm sure I left out a lot of common veggies, oops. I think they are very popular because of the variety of ways you can use them.

For example, Zucchini can be used in bread, can be fried, used in salads, pastas, pizzas, muffins, etc. Goodness, I'm sure someone can find a way to put it in ice cream!

What do you like to eat? do you like lots of salads? want to make pickles? plan on preserving your produce??? those are the questions you need to answer before deciding what to plant...if yu cannot stand onions then dont grow them if you love tomatoes then grow more of them...some years I'll only get 6 tomatoes from a plant while other years I will get 40 from one plant... same with cucs and peppers...depends on the weather, bugs, soil & how much I have weeded and watered

Well it is kind of amazing how people can figure out how to combine things. You never know, it might turn out to be delicious! But I think Zucchini ice cream just wouldn't work haha.
