We came home late last night and saw a short, wide skunk lumbering through a neighbouring garden. Maybe that's what's digging up our garlic and tulip bulbs. 🦨

yes, and if you used certain kinds of fertilizers in the holes or in that area it may be why the skunk went after the bulbs. we do have skunks that come through here and at one time had plenty of tulips planted along various edges but the skunks did not bother them. we planted them deep enough (3x bulb size depth or deeper), but also i did not use any fertilzers. where we usually see the skunks doing anything is going after the grubs and worms in the grassy areas.

what did make the most impact on the tulip population here in the unfenced gardens were the rabbits (first of all) and then the deer. the chipmunks go after the crocuses (bulbs) and the rabbits really go after the leaves.

A skunk sprayed our house once when we lived in northern CA. We scrubbed off the odor with tomato sauce! It worked like a charm!

Had to take a feral cat in a cage to the animal shelter. It sprayed the inside of the Blazer. It stunk for days . In the heat of summer you could smell it a block away. I found something at the feed store made for removing the Oder and after many prior attempts to eliminate the horrid order , a product I don’t remember the name but it finally did the trick. Like maybe the enzymes to neutralize the order. OMG… I’ll never forget the oder. Worse than a skunk….if you could possibly imagine. 😱

Isn't that the way - that governments import a species expecting it will keep another species in check, the way they do in a different country, and it goes completely haywire. It's never as simple as they think!

May I ask what meds you import from the US? We mostly buy de-worming and heartworm preventative products from Australia (as well as sometimes from England or Canada) because our own regulatory authority made these necessary veterinary medications available only by order of licensed veterinarians.

It's such a racket - we have to pay higher price for a prescription for HW pills each month and/or expensive fecal testing each time a de-wormer is bought. But it seems our govt is giving up on this form of extra revenue (ie extortion) now that so many of us are purchasing drugs that should be over-the-counter from countries where these are OTC, because I'm recently seeing some of these pet meds re-branded and offered for sale w/o a prescription here in the US. Too little too late for me! I'm happy with the service of PetsMegastore in your country after doing business with them for several decades. So much for my rant! lol
Sorry for misleading ... I should have said vitamins etc, not pharmaceuticals : )

i have a weed that popped up in a garden that was not there last year, i don't know where these thousands of seeds came from, but i've had to weed the garden many times this season already and i have to do it yet again tomorrow before these current round of growing weeds drop even more seeds.

it is a speedwell and they are aptly named...

i am amazed at how fast it has been able to get to the size it is at now since it seems like i just weeded it, but that was now six weeks ago at least so... well, not that bad.

no pictures, no praises, just words on the page... :)
We have had unprecedented rainy weather in Northern Rivers, Australia, for the past few years ... of course, weeds are going mad, and everything else like snakes and critters abound. Instead of needing to mow the lawns once a week, it is more like twice a week, and weeding the same!

They both work.
A homeopath recommended I purchase a neutralising gel from the Miracle company you mention ... this would be for tick bites : ) AND her homeopathic remedy drops have worked on me, for tick, where the last two bites have been much less severe : ) She also made up a potion/drops for a weed in the garden that gave me severe allergic reactions (took her a weed so that she could make the potion for me). It too has proved to be a much less severe a reaction to touching it.
