When Thing Go Bump In The Night

The power went out last night. When that happens, the smoke alarms chirp every 10mis or so until it either comes back on or the batteries die.
My dogs played "Red Light - Green Light" from 9:30 until about 2:30.
"CHIRP!" scurry, scurry, scurry to a hiding place and freeze...... "CHIRP!" scurry, scurry, scurry to a hiding place and freeze.... "CHIRP!" scurry, scurry, scurry to a hiding place and freeze

I'm 'functioning' of about 2 hrs of sleep. I'd be willing to bet that tonight someone could break in and move the entire contents out of the house and I'd never notice until I woke up in the back of the moving van.

Ha... we have had the same, only our dog decided to bark LOUD & LONG ;( Makes for a sleepless night. Hope you have lots of coffee today and can still sleep tonight.

Yep after replacing the unit in the bedroom and it still did the same thing night after night! We took it down / unwired it. There is one right outside the BR door and 6 others in the house all wired together ! Boy does it get loud when they all go off!

Twice alarm company called me about 2am. Motion detector going off is anyone at work ? Should they call police. 1st time I was angry someone broke in, I garbed a machete and flew to the kennel all kinds of visions what I was going to do to the thief. I got there before police everything dark all of a sudden I turned into a coward and waiting in car for police to arrive. Parrots opened their cage door and where flying around setting off alarm

One time I changed alarm code at country house. Next time i went up I could not remember and put in 3 or 4 wrong codes before hitting right code. The alarm company called my cell to make sure all was ok. I gave them my safety word and said all ok then my cell lost service. I decided to give myself a facial and put a clay mask all over my face. As soon as my whole face was covered in clay there was a knock at the door. Having no choice but to answer door wearing clay mask. Not sure those jaw dropped lower mine or the 3 state troopers with their guns pointed at me. Alarm company called in armed home invasion.
