Hattie the Hen
Deeply Rooted
Good morning -- lots of questions to answer.........!!
boggy b
I don't know what stinkbugs are so I presume we don't have them. Have they got a Latin name?
A lot of back gardens are very narrow here. I'm lucky as mine is not like that at all because it I have one of six houses that a land owner built for his estate workers in the 1920's. They weren't very well paid but the house was free with the job. He included a large garden so they could grow plenty of vegetables & fruit (he even gave them fruit trees) & keep chickens & even fatten a pig.
He was considered an enlightened employer who spoiled his men. He built the 6 houses hiring a local builder who built them out of wychert ( a local type of clay) & trees from his own land. So, esentially, I live in a mud hut........!!!
Couch grass was invented by the devil.....!! When I moved in the garden was full of it but eventually, thanks to free-ranging my chickens, it seems to be under control.

Re:"Fleece",
Take a look at this link to the company I buy mine from:

I could not do without it & I buy it by the roll -- it is 3metres wide.
