Air Quality is finally well into the Good. ...sigh...

We had about a 1/2" of rain. It's 39°f (4°C) outdoors and I'm surprised that it is that cool with all this humidity but then, what do I remember about humidity
;)
? Anyway, it's late October with long nights of darkness.

A 90% chance of rain on Monday and I just bet that we see a sprinkling of snow before and after and finally, a first frost.

Thoughts on moving heavy pots to protect from frost. I'll be needing to air-up the tires on my hand truck!

Steve

i see they have a forecast of chances of mountain snow in some places from this storm so that will be interesting to see if it happens.

The snow comes in while I am at work today. It will continue into tomorrow. I just moved my little apple tree sprout under cover so that it won't get broken by the snow load. The onion seeds I planted are covered with straw, and I rimmed my strawberry plant with straw as well. The first hard frost is expected Tuesday as well. 🥶

I am glad and not glad I am not starting my new job tomorrow. I can just lay back and enjoy the first snow and not freak about trying to make it on my first day. 🤓

i don't know anything about those slugs at all. not finding too much that says they're toxic or not, but i could also be missing something too and for sure i don't know what chickens might be succeptible to either.
I'll post a picture here soon, there're not what I've seen before
i'd say that if you've not had any chickens dying from them by now they're probably not that toxic. but that's the extent of my guess ... do you have an agricultural extension service there you can ask?
Not that I know of 😐

We had thunder through the early morning with a heavy downpouring of rain and lots of on and off rain the past couple of days.

we might get rained on tonight, which would be ok with me as it would rinse more of the bleach/water off that i put on the roof edge to kill all the crud that's there. first i wire brushed and then got anything else off before i bleached it a few times, then i rinsed it but i think a good rain would be nice too. :)

Been having such great weather the last few days, 20 C / 68 F. Sunny blue skies, blazing autumn colours. Feel so blessed, esp. considering we had snow not long ago. The last breath of wonderfulness before the plunge.

yes, i'm scrambling mike lad to get the house stained and any things caulked before winter.
