tomorrow morning i will have to face the music, errrr, snow... it has to be shovelled. i decided that today's blowing wind wasn't going to accomplish much other than making it really pointless to go out tonight the wind is supposed to calm down, but the temperature is also going down to about 8F. so i trade no wind and colder for more wind and windchill.

good thing i have boots, coat, gloves, proper hat and scarfs that will layer so thick it will be like breathing warm air. my lungs and sinuses cannot do very well if they get too cold.

The slightest covering of snow. I can still see grass where I shoveled out paths earlier –– supposed to continue sprinkling down, for days.

So unusual to wake up to the warmth of 24-25 degrees F (-4°C). I was thinking from seeing @Carol Dee 's post in the Humor thread and @Dahia 's response how I sowed all sorts of seeds on 13 Feb one year. I had only the cool room, indoor windows in that house to grow the plants so i thought that an early start would be okay. It was below zero those mornings and the cold/cool weeks continued so long that it was crazy to have done that, for multiple reasons. This year, maybe it would work but i doubt it.

with the furnace going out we mostly used electricity to keep warm during the past week and a half or so. the bill looks like about $60 extra. i told Mom that if she wanted $ to help paying for it she can have it. we both chipped half in for the furnace. $60 is peanuts compared. shhh! don't tell anyone that peanuts and peanut butter are still a good deal at the store or we'll have a run on those. also had a good deal on Spaghetti-O's and Meat Balls. yes i will eat them once in a while or plain ones. sometimes food is just fuel and i don't much care what it is - so if i'm hungry probably not a good idea to turn your back to me or at least be ready to toss a can of sardines over your shoulder...

snow shovelling was good exercise this morning. took about the time i estimated. could have been worse but i think the wind blew away a thousand lbs of it out towards the end and the snowplow did not stack up too much wet stuff to freeze so i was able to get that out of the way without beating it up with a different shovel.

Nope, nada you’ll never catch this gardener snow shoveling…. I save back breaking work to scoop the stalls and gardening. Besides I’ll save the heavy lifting for the snow blower. 👍
