This June was the wettest June EVER in Indiana. As bad as it was down here, we didn't get it nearly so bad as you guys up north did, Seed.

Happy to report that this morning I was able to get a shoe on without major discomfort! And I wasn't up scratching all last night, either. Guess I need to quit wearing flip flops. :\
Which is funny because I think there's statistically more danger of your kid meeting some creep online right from the "safety" of their own home than running into the pedophile driving around a windowless van.
@MontyJ - I think you may be right about that. I soaked it for a while, and then sat with it elevated for a while tonight (wish I had a more pleasant reason to spend an evening in the recliner!), and even though it's still swollen, it's looking a lot less like the elephant man than before.
Saturday afternoon, I got stung on the arch of my foot by a bumblebee. I had the expected swelling and INCREDIBLE itching, but I was expecting that it would have subsided by now - at least the swelling. But today when I got home from work, I found that now my ANKLE is swollen too! I've gotten...
@journey11 - That's what I'm hoping! Because I've also heard stories about them being like dogs. Those were from 4Hers, though, so that probably makes a difference.
DH came home with these 2 little guys last Friday.
He's named them Bacon & Pork Chop. They're really skittish, and DH is working very hard to make them tamer. He doesn't understand why I keep warning him that it's a bad idea.... I'm determined not to get attached to the adorable...
While I share Bee's attitude about the threat of botulism from home-canned foods, this happened in Ohio a couple of months ago:

They found it came from potato salad...
I just heard a news story on this. One of the issues with composting the old fruits & veggies is that so many of them come neatly packaged in plastic containers now. Whoever was being interviewed about it said that it was way too time-intensive to de-package everything to make it worthwhile. :/
@Beekissed - I actually found some Gatorade powder that's been hanging out in our pantry for God knows how long, and I'm managing to choke it down.
Every year, I have pepper volunteers that come up, which blows my mind given how cold it's been here the past few winters. And it's never anything like beans or peas or more hardy things that come up on their own. So strange!
