So, it's a bad thing to come home with unexpected purchases of chicks and plants? Then we should all be very, very ashamed of ourselves! Are you ashamed, Jared?
Ugh! Don't get me started on rattlesnakes. There are so many of them around here. They get huge and nasty. They have eaten our chicks and have bitten our cattle, horses, and dogs. Needless to say we all kill them any time we can. On the other had, we have plenty of beneficial snakes as...
I don't have a clue what types these are. I just planted some from the grocery store that had nice big cloves on them. None of these got scapes, but I just pull them when they have turned about half brown and start laying over. These need to hurry up and cure - just ran out of garlic in the...
Tomatoes and summer squash are going crazy this year. I'm afraid to get too excited because there's a lot of season left, but still. . .:love
Brussel sprouts are amazing roasted with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until cartelized, then dipped in garlic chipotle aioli. Yum, yum...
Here is the garlic I pulled up today. This was planted last fall. We have about this much more that we planted this spring. Looks like it will be ready to pull soon. I don't think those heads will be as big, though. Apparently we need to stick to planting garlic in the fall!
Interesting. Hope things dry up and your toms come back healthy. That's so strange that some would be affected and not others. How frustrating for you.
What the heck? The pics are right-side-up when I look at them in the thread? Somebody commented that my pics were upside down in another thread as we'll (was it you?). I'm so confused. . .
Oh my gosh, yes, canesisters, corgis are wonderful dogs. Very smart, intuitive, funny, tons of personality, . . . I could go on forever. We love all of our dogs (all adopted mutts except him), but I will always have at least one corgi! This isn't the best pic of him -guess I should update my...
As you can see the roses have gone crazy this year. I pruned them back to nothing in February and they came back with a vengeance! You have to be careful getting to the front door, but I refuse to trim them back right now while they are blooming so beautifully! My hubby is not amused. :hugs
You had mentioned cocozelle in your original post. I have grown them for the past two years and we love them. They have wonderful flavor. Not quite as prolific as zucchini but we'll worth it.
Enjoying this thread very much! There's nothing like the relationships we build with our dogs.
Here are 3 of our babies. Gus the corgi is my "little man" and is as devoted as he can possibly be. Such a good boy and extremely smart. He loves to herd my chickens. Harlo is an American...
