wow. long list going there. i'd love to get my hands on some of those Highlander and X3R pepper seeds but i don't want to pay for Johnny's to ship them to me. i live the next state over from them & it's still too much to pay. i find their shipping to be too much for my liking. i wish they would do a different shipping for just seed orders. i'll wait till my local green house has their ordering schedule & get them sent through that.

I'm getting by pretty cheaply on seeds this coming spring as I went overboard last year. I'm not a person who likes to try new varieties of things unless I just have to and I like to keep my veggies pretty basic, though I'm branching out a little this year with a few things. I have my favorites that stand up to different weather conditions year after year, so I usually stick to those old favorites.

I try to keep most of my seeds of the heirloom variety so I can save seed. I've never really done that seriously yet, just sporadic and here and there, but this next year I intend to save all the seed I can. I think it's going to be harder and harder to get good seed as years go along and I'm not willing to spend a lot of money to grow my own food...that defeats the purpose for me.

Made homemade seed tape this weekend for my Candy onions. Will stick with it until I have seed tape for most things. I hate to thin and would prefer to sit at the table in comfort and make seed tape with things properly spaced than get on my old knees and thin things.

Everyone forgets that part, don't they? ;) Ever notice how most blossoms in a veggie garden are yellow or white? That must have some "bee significance".

Covers the waterfront, outfield, backfield ... fussy frivolous flowers. Make my head hurt.

Oh, can I get Snapdragon Toppers? "Lovely blend of tall spikes and bright colors. Long, strong stems are covered with large, closely placed flowers in a full color range to form gracefully tapered, towering spikes. Splendid!"

One of the first snaps I grew, they were from Thompson and Morgan. Burpee has 'em. Twenty five years and only growing them four or five seasons, where is the justice?!!

i'll be okay ...

No, my list of new will likely be short, as usual. I want what I want.!
