Maybe next year I could help you out. I've got the Network growouts, Tartan Dark (C), a naked seed pumpkin, and a corn project for me to play with this year. Wish I knew what an average time to tassel was for popcorn. I have some I need to grow out, but don't want to do that with the other project.
I harvest my popcorn in Northern indiana in october usually maybe late september if i remember right. Depends on maturity also. I cant grow beans after popcorn. Not sure in your geography but tassle should be late july and into august

Lately I've loved Ojo de Cabra -- a great flavour that pairs nicely with smoked meat. I think I tried Orca/Calypso too, and it was pretty good.
I like Littleton for anything where I want the beans to have a little more body. Any cranberry bean is probably about the same though that's a guess.

Our bean thread last year crushed all previous annual activity records. I think we contribute some valueable bean growing information to people not only who participate in this thread, but also to growers who stop by to read and enjoy the thread. I think we also entertain with some of our beautiful bean seed photos. So below is our previous top records for Replies, Views, and Pages and the year that those took place. Plus this past years thread performance.

Replies - 1 K + in 2014

Views - 110 K in 2014
Pages - 107 in 2017

Many beans are literally & figuratively hanging by a thread... and in the case of LEBN, that is a good thing. This is a vibrant community for bean fans to hang out with others of like mind. :thumbsup

@Bluejay77 from what i remember from before it looks like the network growers have really filled out and refreshed the network bean page varieties. once in a while when i'm scanning through i don't notice too many that have older dates on them. :) this be a good thing.
Yes most of the beans on the network pages have been grown out and refreshed. There are only a couple with a 2013 or 2014 date on them that are untouched. I may have to try growing those out myself. I've also gotten a hold of a bunch of new beans when I was at the 2022 Central Indiana Seed Swap and stayed at the home of Rich and Shelli Broadbent. Karen Golden who runs Michigan Heirlooms got the seed stocks of Remy Orlowski who had The Sample Seed Shop. Remy passed away in 2020 from cancer. Seed Saver member John Coykendall and author and I went through Remy's beans and we divided them up between the two of us. I'll have a new list perhaps to spring on everyone. I have also had beans put away in my freezer that have never gotten on the Network pages. Those beans are pretty much what I've been listing as the Priority Beans. I may create a new Network page this spring as time permits. I will be home for certain on April 4th ready to dive into this seasons activity at full bore. Whatever full bore might be for this 76 year old. 😊
