While on my "prancercise" laps, I banged my hand on the corner of a chest of drawers. Right between the digitS' of my right hand ...

The swelling is/was minimal but I have trouble closing that hand now. It's almost okay. DD says she will bring some hand weights over for when I'm "covering the miles" here at home. This will be my excuse not to use them ;).

The hands stay active as I'm tramping about. Lead with the left, lead with the right, lead with both

! Throw punches at a 3 year-old, 5 year-old, Kareem Abdul Jabbar! I don't clinch my hands anyway, more of love-pat. Wouldn't want to make these guys mad !

I am SO out of shape! :thIt has been 8 months since DH went to the ER and got that horrible diagnosis. I went out yesterday and raked some wet leaves, just for a few minutes and my arms were shaky. Today, I did some more and same and later went out with clippers and cutting down flower stalks and moving some broken limbs from cherry bushes. I carried about 3 armloads of stalks and things out of the yard and my legs are tired, and my right arm I was using to clip with is SORE. I am going to have to go out daily and do something before it is time to REALLY work in the garden. This is serious! Adding good note though, DH as I am writing this is on the roof fixing a leak. He has been getting stronger.

That's very good news about your husband GWR. :hugs

GWR, if you keep working like that you will get stronger and reach a point where you won't be so sore. Those muscles haven't been used in a while. Just do a little clean up each day. The note about your husband put a smile on my face. He's being active which helps so much mentally and physically.

That is indeed great news!

Out of shape -- you are so not alone. Today I shoveled the snow from the driveway for two hours (or so) and then toted 100 lbs (2 bags) of chicken feed from the car to the garden shed. I used the grands' sled for most of the toting, but still have to carry it into the building and pour it into the metal cans. Sure feeling sorry for myself -- then and now -- sore back and sore arms.

I keep doing things I probably shouldn't but someone has to do them. I'm not supposed to carry heavy weights because of "organ prolapse" and I'm not supposed to do heavy cardio-work because of CHF. In a perfect world DH would still be spoiling me.

In some ways that is good, but then like you said about the heavy lifting, that is not good at all. :hugs

Red ... how about dividing the 2 50 lb sacs of chicken feed into smaller containers before you tote them ? That should save lots of aches and pains !
