Christmas time is my busiest time of the year. Dogs check in around 12/22 and check out 1/2. By New Years eve I am exhausted last thing on my mind is going to a party. I do try and stay up to watch ball drop. Most years I never make it, sleep wins out. What are your plans for tonight?

Eat at my wife's brothers fairly early, watch a little football, and be home an in bed before midnight.

I'm out in the country but we still get plenty of fireworks around. One of the dogs has that storm panic thing. We'll give her the pill to try to help her cope.

This is the first time that we are going to be visiting family. I know that my sister, whom we stay with, always waits for the New Year with her daughter in laws family. It's really hard for me to stay up late and I sure don't like being on the road when people have been drinking. Her city also seems to celebrate with more noise. I'm hoping that I can go to bed early and be able to sleep with all those fireworks going on. We are not much into being party people. We prefer going out to a nice dinner and having a good glass of wine instead. :)

No plans here. Bed time always looks good to me.
I think Penny is beginning to show a storm/loud noise anxiety. The other night when the wind and rain was really loud, I heard her rattling her kennel about midnight. I got up to find her very agitated. I let her out of her kennel, thinking she needed to go out.
No, she just wanted to be petted, and soon lay down near me and fell asleep.
In the morning I saw that she had bent the wires in her kennel, pretty severely.
She cowers at the sight of a gun. I am wondering if that's why she was at the Humane Society. Wouldn't make much of a rabbit dog, if she's scared of guns.

Just having another couple over for dinner and some cards. Watch the ball drop, then they head home and we turn in. Old people we are!

We usually stay home and have a night of games and food with the family, but rarely do we stay up 'til midnight. We don't like being on the roads during that time. This year we are doing something a little different, though...we are going to my oldest son's house and have the games and food instead. :D

Don't know if we will stay the night or come on home but I'm not a big fan of being away from my home on New Year's, nor traveling 20 mi. on a bad road, dodging drunks. But...gotta change it up sometimes to keep life interesting. :)

We love playing Spades, Rummy, Scrabble, Cranium, Sorry, Monopoly, and we just got a new game of Pictionary from Good Will...hadn't even been played yet, so it was a good deal.

Son is fixing a big pot of chili, we brought homemade rolls, he'll have nachos and other snacks as well and I brought two of the easiest to make pies in the world. They don't last long, so I'll have to get dibs on a piece before they are gone.

Lots of talk, lots of laughter, lots of fun, lots of love, lots of food...and that's how we roll.

Nope! No plans at all. DH has been in bed since 5:27 and I'm holding out for 8:00. We did go out for supper and I splurged for T-bone dinners -- if you call 3:00 suppertime.
