Goats tails stick up, sheep tails are usually docked, if left long, hang down. Wool sheep are easy to spot, hair sheep get confused with goats.

they looked more plump and short so i think they are sheep. they weren't close to the road so i couldn't really see them that well at all. just these white fuzzy plump things in the distance. :)

Why does this thread make me want hair sheep even more than I already do?

Jesus is Lord and Christ ✝️
Because they are so darn cute!

Granny’s lambs kinda follow her around and kinda wander around baa-baaing their little lungs out. Spot follows his sister, she follows him when I go out with a bottle. Granny comes looking for them, or at least the ewe lamb and maybe Spot follows them back to the flock, maybe he stays in the hoop shelter. I’ll lead him back to the flock, he’s kinda getting it now. I feed him 3 times a day, yesterday he didn’t finish his last bottle. Maybe he’s stealing milk from Granny.

Y’all looky what I found yesterday morning! Cleopatra, of Texas Five fame, had a single ram lamb. He is a big boy, just hours old, strong, stays close to mom. I sent his picture to my friend Sarah and she sent back, his name is Sam-and so it is.

At just hours old, he has great conformation. Sam has what I call “it”. He has the “it” factor. Sam will grow into a very nice ram and I can see it from the first glance. Then add on that bodacious color! That throws on the WOW! factor on top of the “it” factor. I’m going to record him as half Katahdin and offer him up for sale as a commercial sire.

Every morning when I let the ewes out on the front field, they trail to the small L piece up front by the road. I closed it off for several months, so there is grass there. Thought yall would enjoy the pictures.

Sheba leads the way.

Behind Sheba is Frimplepants. She has twin red lambs.

Spot the bottle lamb is doing just fine. He follows his mom and sister, runs to me for a bottle. I feed him 3 times a day. He is 4 weeks and 5 days old. I’ll bottle feed him until 6 weeks, then cut out the noon bottle and wean him at 8 weeks.

I met a delightful couple and invited them to the farm yesterday so she could bottle feed Spot. She was over the moon about Spot and all the sheep. Her husband was recording her on the phone. We had a fun visit.
