It may be something psychological because I'm not willing to grow them for ~ maybe ~ one fruit to ripen the last week of the growing season but ... I had Kellogg's Breakfast twice in the garden. I thought they were delicious!

They are an orange and may not be what you are looking for in a BLT sandwich tomato. Pantano Romanesco is full of flavor! And, it's red ... but, late.

I've never eaten a Pink Brandywine but Red Brandywine OTV is great. It's supposed to be a little earlier than its sisters.

I though @marshallsmyth 's Amy Sue was an outstanding big pink! Last year was an unusually hot one so I don't know how it would perform in a cooler, short season. Marshall made a cross between Marianna's Peace with Giant Syrian. I have Marianna's Peace to grow with Amy Sue and compare in 2016.

For an earlier red beefsteak, I have been happy growing and eating Big Beef nearly as long as it has been available. I notice that it is popular with a lot of gardeners.

Kellogg's Breakfast is a mighty fine tomato when it comes to taste and that color is just fantastic.
I generally don't consume much fresh tomatoes unless grown myself, I tend to stick to oxheart types for sandwiches as they tend to be high flesh and low pulp content stopping sandwiches going soggy.

Now, I'm gonna pick on you, NyBoy. I will relate your original post here with what you were just asking @sumi in the thoughts and quotes thread - about trees and such at the garden centers ;).

I would like to live in a perennial paradise but I can't. Despite the stress of growing annual plant starts, I am getting along okay - outside the border to paradise. Sounds like heresy, don't it??

Well! Now that you have that greenhouse, you can join me in Sin City! There is a world of tomato varieties out there, NyBoy! Your greenhouse can open a door to it :).

I will drag @aftermidnight into this. Ha! She may have difficult tomato growing conditions but she overcomes them with early starts and up-potting to larger containers. And, @Hal , he's on the other side of the world from you!

Now, not only is there a world of tomatoes, there are also worlds of other annuals, including ornamentals by the hundreds! I just say, "let it happen," sorta :) - and, I have an Instant Garden each year! And, it's otherworldly.

;) Steve

Ducks, I eat tomatoes. I just don't eat BLT's or sandwiches with tomatoes. They make them soggy.

I got the love of gardening from my grandmother. Funny though, she never grew veggies just flowers. She would save her seeds every year.
