central house vacuums

Has anyone ever run over something with the vac and it didn't pick it up, so you run over it a dozen more times - and it STILL doesn't pick it up.... so you pick it up and move it and then run over it again....???

Or is that just me?

@canesisters , that made me smile, haven't done that since we got a Dyson but yes have done that many times, why do we do it, even after picking it up and moving it, it still might not get picked up :barnie.

@Carol Dee the first Dyson we bought was one of the canister types. I thought I kept my floors and carpets pretty clean, of course the first thing I did when I brought it home was try it out on the carpet, I was shocked at the amount of stuff it sucked up out of a carpet that had just been vacuumed the same morning. Being nit picky the only thing I don't like about this machine is the hose, it big and bulky.
This past Christmas we opted to instead of buying each other Christmas presents we bought a Absolute Cordless Stick Dyson (we both vacuum), love, love, love, this machine, so easy to use and it keeps full power up until the battery runs down and then it stops dead, it sucks full power until then, quick recharge and carry on if needed.
The only time I roll out the canister now if I'm doing the whole house at one go. Dog and cat hair, not a problem with either Dyson, so far we haven't had to use the canister since buying the stick but keeping it for a backup:).
