Coffee craving lately with some problems maintaining self-imposed standards. A few days with tasks I didn't really want to do, not that sitting around made any sense just that they weren't especially pleasant or rewarding plus the hurry-up element. So, rewarded myself with extra cups of coffee. There, I'm satisfied :).

But no. Two cups a day and my stomach is usually just fine. Should not push the boundaries.

Yesterday, I limited the caffeine in one extra cup by first making a half cup of this new-to-me Teeccino Dandelion Caramel Nut. Added some of DW's sugar-free non-dairy creamer — it is quite good!

The Teecino blend is bitter by itself! Ingredients make sense to me: carob, dandelion, chicory, dates, almonds, figs ... All look good to me even tho my last batch of dandelion root was  toooo bitter for a coffee blend. It's worked okay in the past but I had lost the prime dandelion growing area at another garden and used what plants showed up in the big veggie garden, skinny stuff and, off-flavor wasn't surprising.

Witloof chicory roots worked well, 50:50 with coffee. Coffig roasted figs are good but very sweet. Other ingredients seem like good choices. 50:50 after lunch, today :).

Don't deprive yourself of coffee!!!! EVER!! Just drink more water.
Eldest DD has four 32 oz bags of 8 o'clock beans (Dark Italian Roast) shipped every 5 weeks.
SOMEHOW, we have ended up short between our 2 households. She bought a 32 oz bag earlier this week.
Next day shipment came in. We each take two of them, and I store mine in glass canning quarts.
I picked up pretty colored metal full lids a few years back. They were originally "Pioneer Woman" stuff, put on clearance. Kinda like these:

I have bought Several of this brand that Walmart sells, then clearances, like a set of food dry goods glass containers, originally $35, then on clearance for $7/set of 3.
VERY much like these:

I bought them for eldest DD, thinking that she had enough containers, and that she might use them in her craft room.
Turns out that she Didn't like what she had to store flour and sugar--loves them!

fuzzi! Hi! :frow

@digitS' I’ve been drinking Teeccino for a few years now. They have a lot of great flavors. Since I’m a “have some coffee with your creamer” kind of person, I’ve never tasted them straight.

Btw, they are more economical purchased in the “coffee” form than the teabag form. It can be brewed like coffee or like loose tea.

I and my mother used to love "Camp Coffee". This coffee had chicory in it but was sweetened with sugar, therefore not so healthy.

I would really like to try this chicory and figs coffee that sounds really yummy and I should imagine great for our intestines

That’s why I drink it. It is a good source of inulin, which is a prebiotic fiber that feeds probiotics. (Chicory and dandelion are both good sources of inulin.)
