@Marie2020 , I wonder how many folks have milk delivery even available where they live . When I went off to college in a distant city, Mom set up milk delivery for me . Cheese also, delivery was discontinued in the town the following year.
For 2 months, I lived with train tracks directly behind the house. It was a spur so trains didn't come often but when they did pictures would shake on the wall and it was difficult to talk over the noise. My uncle had only gone through a divorce a short time earlier and didn't live there long before moving. I was gone before he was!
As a kid, I could see and hear the train go by about 1½ miles away. The railroad was on the otherside of farm fields and the Harry & David warehouses . Yes, the fruit basket mailorder outfit . Sometimes, a steam engine went by – maybe going off to a wrecking yard or museum or something . The noise and smoke was tremendous during those events!
