Late breakfast this morning, eggs and bacon. Having leftover coffee, with cream, sugar and ice for a refreshing cold drink. It’s EIGHTY SIX DEGREES!! Gonna go outside and put a coat of paint on some 2x4’s. Got some shelf building to do, I cut, paint, assemble, then just do touch up.

6 weeks tomorrow. I'm doing great. Don't worry, I'm not being stupid. I'll get feed tomorrow, 12 bags, total 600 pounds. I'm NOT unloading it. Son is in until weekend when he leaves for another job. He'll unload it for me. Next month, I'll be able to do it myself.

Salal berries grow wild in the islands of the Salish Sea. If you have the patience to pick them and then take out each stem individually, then you can make wonderful treats with these berries! The jam we made tastes like blackberry jam without the seeds!
I have never heard of salal before.
