Having toasted zucchini bread from the freezer. It has held up well and I was pleased to find it thawed in the fridge. Banana and oolong.

Complaining! Wind. We have had our 1/2 inch of welcome rain and there may be a little more this morning. Then, back to the wind. An official 60 mile per hour gust yesterday but constant 30 to 40+ mph gusts. This is almost becoming normal . Morning temperatures in mid-40's (7-8⁰C) and maybe colder tonight.

I'm sorry for the beaten and chilled tomato plants. They have had a very rough, couple of weeks and they look like it! The exceptions are the ones in pots of 100% compost. I don't know how to account for it. Green and, actually, growing!

Maybe the warmer root temperatures from being in pots helps. I know that some Colorado gardeners regularly pot-up peppers for this reason. Some, do not set out tomatoes until June. Yeah well, this is June but it isn't Colorado! With the wind, we might end up in Alberta ...

Warmer temperatures soon and not so much wind – I hope.

Same here! Our first half of May is so warm, and then the temperature dropped a lot. I took out some autumn clothes agaian. Cucumbers, Melons, and Peppers growing outdoors look really misearable now. Zucchini plants and chilies are not too far away from looking miserable.

I am even considering to re-sow some cucumbers and let them grow in the greenhouse. Luffas and some specific pumpkins are doing well.

For tomatoes, I picked two Russian varieties this year, thinking that they might do better even in a cooler summer?

The rain finally stopped, but the temperature in the night is terribly low. Another poor crop is Adzuki bean.

Well, there are always winners, no matter it's a cool or hot summer. The lettuces are still producing a lot of food, although some iceberg varieties are growing hearts now.

Ohh, happy, a local resident just came to my cafe and bought six slices of cake rolls.

Is it a lemon or orange cream cake?
I will have to start making iced coffee again. I love it. I'm thinking of starting to make iced cocoa too. That should be nice through the hot summer

It's a peach cake - now is the season here for all kinds of peach. The price is really nice.
However, yesterday I have tried a lemon cake roll, oh wow, the liquid part is 60% lemon juice and 40% warm water (usually I use Milk for the liquid part) - the flavor is so refreshing and lovely. It immediately becomes my favorite.

So, it's a lemon cake with peach and cream.
