@Dahlia, I should add that DD makes corned beef from the beef brisket that is part of the whole cow that we buy. I just moved 3 large briskets from my downstairs freezer to HER freezer to get these made sooner. She also has a recipe for pastrami, aNOTHER end product of beef brisket.
She has a small smoker, not yet used, which is now the popular way to cook brisket, known for being tough cut of beef unless cured, and popular in the SW, as you know.
Friend, who bought another whole beef from same seller last year smokes his brisket and smokes the ribs. We did swapsies this week. We needed hamburger and he was happy to take the ribs.
My favorite sandwich is the Reuban:
There is a local place that makes the very best Reuban ever! IMHO
They serve it with Thousand Isle dressing and horseradish, both for dipping, and on marbled rye bread.
THIS recipe calls for "corned beef brisket":
I often order Angry Orchard hard cider with it.
Oh yummy! That sounds so fabulously delicious! And this is just after eating a large bowl of homemade clam chowder!!!

Snow. It hasn't dropped below freezing and is supposed to change to rain, soon. Where is that @Alasgun to sympathize with us?

I will start washing machine and then the drier but for the moment, a cup of herbal tea. I remember when Mom felt the need to delay washing because of southern Oregon weather. I set up a clothes rack when I went off on my own. Ya know, that worked just fine. I doubt if DW would be happy with it and she doesn't participate with hanging clothes on the line during our arid Summers in this neck of the woods.

I always hang my clothes on a line to dry as the dryer ruins fabric.

I have lots of room, but still can't figure out where to put a new clothes line. The one that was here had posts that rotted out, but the location was terrible, back of the house, under trees, bird droppings on your clothes all of the time!! :rant
When we lived in town, with a 1/4 acre lot, somebody had put in a 4 line clothesline and I used it ALL OF THE TIME!

I got up and saw it snowing a wet snow. Everything was covered in about 3 inches. All the electric lines and trees. It looked like a white wonderland. I decided to get back under the covers and then when I got up it was melting and raining some. I brought the onion seedlings back inside yesterday. When I checked on them yesterday morning the tray that had some water in it was froze. It got down to 29. They were okay, but it is so cloudy I decided to bring them in.

The room where I have the greenhouse is pretty cold. Things are growing slow. I need to do some potting up and start a few more seeds. I cleared a path for the manure truck to deliver some manure when it ever dries back up.

My garlic is starting to come up. Every once in awhile the yard has a lot of birds, but really my bird feeder is not being used much. A few squirrels showing up. I put the new cover on the greenhouse. Slowly doing a little garden clean up. Helping DD with a few things. She will be 34 weeks on Tuesday. I have been buying things for the babies and about have sticker shock. I see something cute with a good price and then realize, I have to buy 2, so not so cheap now. lol
