Scared people are easy to control. And now I'm going back to my corner.

i'm not scared, i just don't want to get sick from this virus.

calling people scared because they wish to avoid getting sick doesn't really do them justice but it might be a way you need to frame things to be happy in your corner. i dunno. to me it is just making yet more drama.

what does it change for you if someone else wears a mask? they're no threat to you of violence. there's no shooting flames or bullets coming from those masks...

You don’t get it. No one cares if you wear a mask or anything else you deem necessary. Not speaking for @thistlebloom but I object to people forcing me to wear masks, stay away from work, etc. admit it, those that are, are afraid of catching the virus (afraid another word for scared).
For education, look at death totals per week since this started. Huge spike in April, then started to decline rapidly after. Since the masks have been implemented very little difference. Look at the numbers. Don’t let media get you all hysterical-they want you to focus on total deaths-a number that includes deaths from other factors.

Agree 100%, I have not missed a day of work from the start of this and don’t plan on it. I have some medical issues and do not want to catch it if I can help it. I am in charge of me Only,if you are living in fear or are in a high risk category you have a responsibility to protect yourself. I tell people everyday “you do you , and I will do me” and we will get along just fine.

i wish it were always so simple. :(

i have a relative who's addicted to a certain behavior which puts them and their family (including us) at risk. recently they outright lied to us. :(

You don’t get it. ...

i get it quite well. i don't wish to get sick from this virus. ...

saying i'm media hysterical or afraid is just telling me something which isn't true.

stop trying to say i'm doing otherwise. you're just being offensive and repeatedly so.

@flowerbug IF you know someone that puts you at risk, avoid them-Family or no family.

My Dad’s famous quote....you are born into a family but friends you pick. Pick who you are friendly to and associate with. I have blood relatives that are not welcome in my world. All my friends are.

Then stay home and allow the rest of us to live our lives. Stop trying to tell us how to live. You really need to listen to your own words and look into mirror. I am done responding to you on this subject.

I'm not the one making drama, I'm trying to avoid it, hence the corner joke.
I don't care if people wear masks, gloves, super hero capes or anything else they care to put on. Do what you think you need to.

Being self righteously smug and claiming the moral high ground over something that I'm not convinced makes a difference and that is being forced on everyone, to the point of being arrested - that's what I find repugnant.

Being lied to constantly (national media) so nobody knows what or who to believe anymore, yeah, that's pretty repulsive too.

Social distancing helps protect you and other people. Wearing a cloth mask protects other people more than it protects you. Think on that for a minute, wearing a cloth mask protects others more than it does you. Many people that have this virus don't know it. They may walk around for many days shedding the virus before they get any symptoms or they may never get symptoms. Yet they are exposing others.

I don't think I have the virus but don't know that for sure. I don't want to get it and bring it home to my family or put myself through that misery the virus can cause so I try to take what simple precautions I can. They are simple, I don't find them that hard. Maybe you do. Maybe you are offended because others want you to act in a certain way. I don't much like that either, especially if I don't want to.

One place I think the media really fails is that they don't point out the misery many pf the people that get it bad but don't die go through. Most people that get it won't die. Most will not require hospitalization. But some do.

Perhaps you see me wearing a mask and trying to keep a certain distance, especially from people that won't wear a mask, as a sniveling coward, quaking and afraid of my shadow. I see it as taking reasonable precautions to protect me, my family, and others. I don't know who is forcing you to wear a mask. Perhaps some of them are afraid you will cause them to get this virus. Perhaps they see it as a civic duty to help contain this virus. If it is the city, county or state officials I suspect it might be that they have a responsibility to protect their constituents than personal fear. After all they have to come up with the money and facilities to deal with the sick people. I think some of them do really care about the people they are responsible for. I have no doubt many are looking at their reelection chances. They don't want to give their opponents the ammunition that they stood around playing a fiddle and doing nothing while people were suffering and dying. The more people that suffer or die from this the less well that will play with family and friends who might vote. Some will do the calculation that their reelection chances are enhanced by doing nothing. I think I'm seeing some state governors change their minds about that.

I still talk to my neighbors. I don't wear a mask when I'm doing yard work. If they get what I consider too close I back up. If they consider me a sniveling coward for doing that I can live with that. I go shopping when I need to. I appreciate it when the people working there wear masks when dealing with customers and have protocols in place to protect the workers and customers. If the customers aren't wearing a mask I try to avoid them. I don't find it that hard but that mask does get uncomfortable.

I think you are skewing a reasonable comment. Nobody ever intimated that.
My original comment about "scared" referred to the fear mongering that has been common in the media. And I'm sorry if you don't understand the agenda.
