I found a source of oats for cheap a few years ago. Then I proceeded to loose his contact info.... :(

That was the only real deal. Rest were on par with pricing.

I found my pinto mini on CL, a terrible deal, as I ended up paying full price for an underfed, poorly cared for baby. But I couldn't leave her there. Took me months to get her to eat hay and horse feed, she was eating cruddy straw and human cereal, didn't know she was a horse.

I sell on there a lot, but there's so many...lets just say "difficult", people there. Trying rudely to cut prices to almost nothing is the biggest issue.

Here's a pic of that free lumber we scavenged out of the trash the other day...spent 20 min. today taking the nails and screws out of it. Got to keep most of the screws to use again later, so that was an added boon to the dumpster dive. Premium grade lumber...FREE.

You wouldn't believe what I got at Good Will today.... :th An old, but in sturdy and good shape, wicker love seat and coffee/end table with bottom shelf. Both pieces for $27. They need paint, naturally, but other than that, nothing wrong with either piece and they are as strong as the day they were made, it seems.

I'll definitely have some fun restoring those finds to a more lovely finish. I'll get pics when I can. LOVE Good Will!!! They had so many good finds there today that I had to limit myself to just these two, but there was a vintage, wooden doll cradle there that was hard to leave behind.

I'll paint this wicker and either keep it for our front porch or flip it for much more money.

Goodwill here used to be great, now their prices are pretty high. They made a deal with target, and get their old stock. Now good will is more about making a profit. Best are the small hospital thrift shops.

Yep, I still go to Goodwill now and then with a friend - it's our "day out" thing to do. But when I am actually shopping, I go to the ones that are run by a local church and the local hospice.
