Love, love, love the photos. There's no need to stop, IMHO.

That is one lovely sweater. I've made a chicken saddle or four, but that's the first egg-patterned sweater I've seen. Such a fashionable fowl.

Who's that big, beautiful guy in the pen? He is one luscious hunk!

That is my copper maran rooster, he is a fine looking specimen for sure! He only has two hens and his fertility rate is very low. Good thing he is such a looker. ;) I've incubated close to 30 of the maran eggs and only 3 chicks :(. People in our neck of the woods love the look of their chocolate colored eggs.

LOL @Nyboy, I can safely assume you don't have chickens. My Rooster "Mr. T has about 40 hens to choose from but he seems to like a certain few more than the others and breeds them constantly this in turn causes them to have bare backs. I can only assume it is painful with the rooster clawing into an area where there are no longer feathers, so the solution is a chicken sweater to protect their bare backs.
These sweaters cost maybe .25-50 cents to make even less if you find yarn at yard sales. They can be made out of anything: baby bibs, onsies, or yarn. Here in Wisconsin they are a big seller. @Smart Red can hook you up if you need some she said she has made her fair share of them.
PS. this was a trial sweater with a new pattern, it was too big and needs modification. Pretty color though lol.

My hubby found 2 sheds on craigslist to give away, you move them, so our afternoon was spent tearing them down in first the sweltering heat and then the pouring rain. One is a barn style shed in pretty good shape and the other was a bit larger and taller. The taller one was made with the old red barn board which was in great condition and lots of tin. We plan on making one nice shed using the barn board and barn style shed. I mostly removed screws and loaded the lighter pieces of tin and wood. Even with the lighter work I can't stand up straight tonight, my hubby isn't in much better shape. Some people can just buy materials and build new but we are proud scavengers and have made many things out of scavenged wood.

Super find, CrazyFeathers! A girl after my own heart -- I always try to go cheap when possible -- and a lucky one at that!

I am proud of my chicken coop.
Chix coop with rabbit yard.JPG

It was made from the Grands' sandy pit, old siding torn off an apartment we sided, and other assorted odds and ends. Even the door was a "find", $5.00 each for 6 and $3.00 for each of the five of six that went on the garden shed.

Yup! Cheap is a wonderful thing if you have the skills to make cheap look good.
