Maybe I should post some pics on my own decorating "mess" thread. My place could use some extra brain cells. It is a major re-muddle.

I love to rearrange the furniture, too, and used to do it often, but now we have several pieces of very heavy furniture, and that really limits what I can do. I like my lazy boy double reclining couch, but it weighs a ton. The last couch I had, I could move it all over the place, and did a lot.
Red, I really like the color you settled on. Looks so warm and inviting. I read that cobalt blue is a hot accent color now, with a Chinese lacquer finish. I think that would look nice for some vases or a lamp base, unless your planned furniture switch would prohibit that color addition.

@so lucky, the living room set is an off white leather that will go well with the new wall cover. I was planning to add bright, bold accent colors in pillows for couches and wherever I can. Then I can bring those colors into the (new) dining room to pull the rooms together.

Still wondering if I should paint the wall in the front room the same "azalea blossom" color. The newly painted room is where your eye is first drawn when you enter the house.

The section I am asking about is the slanted wall you see from near the curtains to abutting the brick wall.
Or perhaps that cobalt blue so lucky mentioned? How would that go with the brick wall? (Nope! Not that dark a blue) Gypsy might get a blue room painted yet.

As I said, I'm not good at making these kind of decisions. Oh, by the way, you can see one part of the couch set to the front middle of the picture. Neutral, go with anything color.

Looking good. I like the framed look of a contrasting wall (the slanted wall.) it really draws you into the room beyond. Or if you did a matching color would make it look more like one BIG room. I see a few blue pieces around. Pillow, chair seat . vase, etc... Maybe a blue wall (not all 4 walls) in a blue similar to the drapes. (I am loving this color combo, my wedding colors 38 years ago.) ;)

So, I am thinking the two slanted walls running to the brick will be either more of a white (popcorn) or curtain (or in that shade, but lighter) blue. The long wall with the windows (running through both living room and dining room) will stay white.

There are supposed to be beams running from the window wall (9 feet high) to the brick wall (14 feet high). That never got finished. There needs to be some type of trim boards around the brick walls where the brick never quite meets the plastered walls.

Do I still want beams? 22 feet room with approx. 5 beams.

I like the sound of that color scheme. ;) The beams although nice are not necessary. Just added expense? Might also make it look more Rustic than the direction it seems to be going.
