Had to spend time online to get medical caretakers to keep me in pain meds, which I Need when I sleep and nap during recovery. I have become so sensitive to leg and knee pain that I can't sleep with it.
Last night was the first night I was sleeping and NOT tossing and turning, with my leg straight.
The physical therapy exercises are designed to stretch muscles without overstretching them.
It is NOTHING like working out and strengthening, so it's a new concept.

Couldn't think of a better name for this year's thread.
My gardening New Year's resolution? No more online seed buying!!! (for this year's growing season)
I have determined that anything else I need to buy I can get at a box store.
I did make one more 2023 seed purchase, from Victory Seeds. They sell rare seeds, if you didn't know.
I am intrigued about growing iceberg lettuce. I will let you know...

GARLIC PLANTING
I didn't do it! Middle DD came to visit on the weekend and I twisted her arm. I took about an hour to plant a 4' x 12' And a 2' x 12' section. Most of it was porcelein garlic and the other was what I purchased from MadGarlicGrowers, 1/2 a pound of German Red Garlic, 4 large bulbs.
WOWSER, the price of garlic bulbs has exploded!! When I didn't want to buy it it was pretty cheap.
The porcelein garlic was $1/bulb.
The German Red Garlic was nearly $8/bulb, after tax and S&H, by comparison.

I am an intuitive gardener, especially since I had so little ability to garden in 2024. Since I had the 5 chicken wire, 4 ft high fencing, first put up for tomatoes four years ago (but they were too short), and I had DD move the one furthest north in the 30ish' x 12' big garden, there was a gap to the north of the 2nd row of fencing. I bought and kept 3 blueberries going all summer, got them in right before my knee surgery.
DD planted garlic to the north of the 2nd row of fencing and filled in the rectangle and around the blueberry bushes. This was the garlic that I bought that was grown locally, so it should be fine this winter.
The German Red Garlic is for my zone, but we'll see how it does.
I still have some of the garlic that @flowerbug sent me 2 years ago, that I replanted last summer, although some ended up harvested and stuck in a bucket. I brought the bucket inside and had my help put it in the basement on a table with a west facing window. We'll see how that small batch does.

why bring garlic inside when it should be outside? i'm not even sure it will do very well inside as it may be too warm for it...

According to local advice,
My porcelain garlic Could be:
Carpathian garlic
Music garlic
Dunno for sure. All I know is that it was grown locally, spend last local winter in the ground, and grew successfully HERE.
I also know that it is hardneck.
Growers didn't identify type.
Still think it is remarkable that there is a local farmstand, right in the middle of a housing development, that grows and sells "honor system".
Rumor is that it is operated by a local church, but they don't identify themselves. :hu
The OTHER garlic is German Red Garlic.
Since they are now separated by a 12' fence, I will know which is which. Also the local garlic is snow white with pale tan cloves. The German garlic is pinkyish.

BC I am still housebound by my knee surgery!
I have the will but not the means.
DD's were gonna let them all die. :hit
Y O U can talk my DD's into gardening For ME!!!! :barnie
Seriously, I Still have a few in the garden to grow for 2025. The garlic that I reference are a few that I harvested, stuck in a small bucket and forgot about, but then it rained and they grew. They are now in the basement against a west facing window. It will be cool to cold there this winter. We'll see how they do...
I am Very grateful for you sending me this garlic last year!! :hugs
