we seem to go the same way plumbing washers bought a bunch in a kit
his was missing since we moved had to fix the leaking faucet in their shower

The opposite happens with me a lot. I throw something out (or donate) that I haven't used in decades, only to need it the next day.

Major I often will come across something in the strangest of p[aces that there is no way I left it there. Once spent 2 days looking for my keys. I gave up had news made. Month later I was cleaning out fridge and went to throw out old pizza in take out box opened box there where my lost keys. When something like this happens I blame ghost in house.

dw loves to barrow tools from the barn, and would go out to get something and it's not there would search the whole barn, would go inside and look around .dw chimes in.... what are you looking for?

yes i forget at times where i left something as well and find when i am not looking for it... you have to love getting side tracked ...
