Tahoe did get a bunch of snow, here a bit away from the lake we get much more and it stays longer because of the way this valley runs~north-south. The skiing is great but this week But,because the schools have been let out for a week in California, it's a bit crowded on the mountain.
Wife is, of course, on the mountain as is our oldest who is teaching both Alpine and Adaptive.
Wifey is great at movement analysis, she clinics instructors to be certified, so daughter has learned this as she grew up on skis. both girls were on skis before their 1st birthday.
Warming weather -- I took "before" photos this morning of the covering of ice all over our back yard.
57 degrees with sun for a short while today. Then the clouds moved in and the temps dropped into the 40s. Still a nice winter thaw for South-est, central-est Wisconsin.
WOW! There has been a dramatic melting today. We were out to supper until late so I'll take the "after" photos tomorrow morning and post them.
Here is the back yard facing East from Friday morning and Saturday morning.
Here is the back yard facing West from Friday and one day later.
If I took photos on Sunday, almost all the ice touched by the sun would be a memory. Check out the glare ice in front of the garden shed. In the shade there will still be ice, but very little. The grass is already green since we got our first snow well before the grass had turned brown in the fall. Indeed, we could have been mowing in December.
What a wonderfully wonderful day today is! DH and I did a lot of little "jobs" around the yard and coop. I started making a greenhouse enclosure in the garden. My goal is to cover two raised beds with plastic and start growing in them this March.
winter is starting to loss it's grip here today was 68* all the windows are open and only the fan is running, nice to having the fresh air inside again...
