Wishing each and everyone a happy Valentine's Day!
I finally figured out last year that I'd like this day a whole lot more if my name was HALLMARK, and that it is the way you show your love the other 364 days of the year that make today worth anything.
I had a great start to the day! DH and I went out for breakfast. As soon as we got back I gathered the things needed to feed the two cats I don't have in the workshop. Water, dry food, and a can of Paté were in hand to I carefully walked out to the shed.
A light dusting of snow was falling and blowing around so I took baby steps in fear the snow might be icy. Nope! At least not until I reached for the workshop door.
That's when I (K)need the sidewalk and gave a big Eskimo kiss to the trash can. Ice was hidden under the snow where icicles had dripped from the roof. NOT FUN!
The cat food fell to the ground, the water dropped from my hands, and I picked myself up from the mess of ice and snow and blood, heading for the house. Poor cats! They could see their food on the other side of the glass and had no way to reach it.
That was about 7:00. The bleeding has almost stopped. I suspect I broke the bone, and my eyes will be lovely colors tomorrow without any make-up on them. As for my knee, it was a hour before I realized a golf ball was hanging on to my knee cap. As long as the nose hurt, the knee lurked quietly. Once the nose was somewhat controlled, my knee started throbbing and pain reared its ugly head.
So, count your blessings. Tell the people you love. And make today special with what you do. Love you all!
