Luckily enough ...
I will see the garden tomorrow. Hope the corn isn't flat. I think the neighbor would have texted if it was. The sprinklers were on there more than 48hrs ago so the plants weren't standing in soggy soil.
The 40mph wind we had that broke the tree branch, laid the corn over but it was upright by yesterday. Dang, I've had 5 boards helping that poor little tree with its load of fruit. I'll go out now and see if I can get it back on the roof ... about half the branch is still attached but it jumped off the board and is now hanging straight down.
So, where is this rain?? Hope the fires didn't just get a blast of air and no rain.
Steve
Really Steve? It looks like you hadn't got any rain at 6:30...
we were a b s o l u t e l y pummelled!!
At 4:00 I was planting ground cover right next to Hayden Lake, when I looked up the southern sky was dark and scary looking.
I wondered why all the nincompoops on the lake were still out there squirreling around! After the first flash, they scattered for shore. Me too, I loaded up and it started raining as I drove out.
The storm raced me home, it was pouring and lightening was flashing above and around me continuously. The trees were whipping wildly and I wondered if the young maples on my driveway would snap.
We lost power until midnight. My corn is tipped, but not flat.
I sure hope that some of that deluge was dumped on Washington.
