Heat It Is

My home thermometer said it got to 96 yesterday but I know it lied! A look at the weather page says it was 106! in the town next door. Fortunately I didn't look at the forecast before I went to work or you all would have heard me wingeing and whining.

Lots of ice helps. Plus low humidity and a breeze is welcome.

Just heard about Kid#1 last night ( notice it's second hand information)
He's fine and loving the job. He'll be home Saturday.

Nearest weather station where such things are recorded:

"... the 2nd hottest July ever."

Only 1906 had a hotter July. 2007 3rd, 1998 4th.

Been thinking about you, Steve..... family in your area says it's been sweltering hot. You had a hotter July than we did here in central TX (ours was unseasonably cool, thank goodness!!).

I don't remember a hotter summer. I was a little kid in the California Central Valley. In Medford, Oregon - there are 2 records from June and July of 105° that still stand from the last summer I lived there. I was in 108° there once. Coastal California was a lot cooler. We always have some summer heat here but ...

I wasn't around in 1906!

It hasn't been 100 degrees here--YET! I'm not complaining!!
