Cat, we were getting any number of calls, all day, everyday. We had to go to the phone to see who it was, even if you did not answer the phone would continue to ring until they got tired of hearing is. Annoying. Now they get blocked.

The do not call list is a joke. I have lost track of the number of companies I have reported in the years I have been on it, no response, nothing happened. The government can do nothing about the VOIP calls. The numbers are spoofed, the calls originate off shore, they have no way to trace them. I have told callers we were on the list and they just laugh at you. You block one number, they change the number and call back. The blocker simply does not put the calls through that are not on your approved list.

Have you tried caller I.D. with an answering machine? It worked real good for us. Don't know that number? Don't answer it and if they don't leave a message, it's nobody you wanted to talk to anyway.

Sure, we have caller ID and an answering machine, however, you must still respond to the phone when it rings, only to find it is a telemarketer. We get callers with foreign accents telling us we just stayed at their resort and have now won a trip to the Bermuda, they just need our credit card number to cover the taxes, "Microsoft" calling to tell us they have discovered a problem with computer and need our credit card number so they can fix it. The new trend is solar panels and security alarms, phony cop collections, phony charities, surveys, politicians, and on on, day after day. The blocker solved the problem completely, not a single telemarketer call since we put it in several months ago. The satisfaction I get knowing I have frustrated them is worth every cent I paid for it, and it was not all that expensive. Now, when the phone rings we know it is someone we want to speak to without having to check the caller ID.
