Correct, mine just say Gro-Lux for plant and aquarium use. There is also a blurb of "Wide Spectrum" whatever that means in lighting. On the package they show pictures of lights above plants and above an aquarium.

I've never tried CFL's since my setup has the florescent fixtures installed and working great. Last year I did hundreds of plants in the contraption pictured.

I will not use CFL's for anything as my experience with them is all negative. Mostly they die young!!! At the price they charge they should last forever!!!

I use the "grow light" tubes in my indoor starting shelves.

I've had good luck with them.

I transfer the starts to the greenhouse when the weather gets warm enough, late March/early April.

The place will not be a problem there but there you will require the lights and the temperature will not matter here. The lights are one of the most important factor in the indoor growing.
