It was something of a myth Wikipedia tells us, NyBoy.

The thing was that someone had to kill the rabbit to see how it responded to pregnancy hormones.

I imagine that it is hormones being (somehow) detected in the parrot's blood. If the lab person determines that your sample is from you - I bet that there will be a great temptation to report something really weird ;) .

I hope that he/she will be far too professional to do that but can you imagine the trembling hand that types out "inconclusive" or something as noncommittal and responsible as that! I'd need a good, stiff drink with lunch and maybe a movie after work as reward for being professional about it.

;) Steve
The lab takes a urine sample and injects it into an immature female rabbit , a few days later, the rabbit is euthenised and her ovaries are checked to see if her eggs have started to grow ... if yes, sample provider is pregnant. Bird female has X Y chromasomes while the male bird has X X. ... opposite to the mammals' where the female has X X and the male has X Y.

Daughter just did test on what main breeds were in her rescue dog. Border collie and Alaskan husky. Explains a lot. Looks like a long legged border collie.

How accurate are those DNA tests?

Alaskan husky or Siberian husky?

The way I understand it, Alaskan huskies are bred for pulling at speed. So they are a mix of several breeds, different racing kennels will have different breeds in their
racers.

No. Just pet. She works nights, she gets off, he is ready to go on long walks. If she sleeps too lng, he starts nibbling on her arms.... He acts more like border but legs of husky.

Oh...I see. When you said rescue dog, you meant she adopted him.
